Intersections

The Williamsburg community comes to life in this street theatre experience exploring the daily lives of ordinary people during extraordinary times. Consider diverse perspectives on political and societal elements of 18th-century life as people of the past gather near the Raleigh Tavern to tend to personal and professional businesses of the day.

  • On Wednesday and Friday, gather with the people of Williamsburg to discuss and consider the front-page news of July 26, 1776.
  • On Thursday and Saturday, Cornwallis’ army is moving through Williamsburg just a few months before the battle of Yorktown in 1781. Discover what this means for enslaved and free people of the city.
  • On Sunday, join us in 1775 as the people of Williamsburg hear of the battle at Lexington and Concord and its ramifications closer to home.
