Bassett Trace Wellness Nature Walks
Join our volunteer Master Naturalist Guides at Griffin Hotel Parking Lot for a morning guided nature walk along the Bassett Trace Nature Trail.
The Bassett Woodlands are home to a diverse collection of native plants and is a birding “hotspot” with over 40 bird species that can be observed seasonally. Please note: this event is weather permitting.
Tours meet in the parking lot of the Gold Wing of the Griffin Hotel at the sign for the trailhead. There will be a discussion about the flora and fauna to be seen along the trail as well as a discussion of the history of the area.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. We recommend walking shoes (no sandals), bug repellent and bottled water for each hiker. Birders may want to bring binoculars. The nature walk portion of the trail is fairly level and easy walking, about ½ mile, round trip. Hikers may want to take advantage of the entire 1.4 mile trail which ends at the Golden Horseshoe Green Course Clubhouse, following the tour.
