Information We Collect and Store
For each visitor to our Web site, our Web server automatically recognizes the consumer’s domain name, but not the email address (where possible). We collect domain names in order to assess aggregate information regarding pages that consumers visit. The information we collect is used to improve the content of our Web site and is not shared with other organizations. We may collect and store personal information that you provide to us as explained in “Personally Identifiable Information” below.

How We Use Information
We use pixels or transparent GIF files to help manage our online advertising. These files enable us and our advertising partner to recognize unique codes on your Web browser, which in turn enables us to learn which advertisements bring users to our Web site. The information that we collect and share is anonymous and not personally identifiable. It does not contain your name, address, telephone number, or email address.

Except as described below, we will not share your personal information outside of the Colonial Williamsburg Company unless you authorize us to do so by opting-in.

When we send you information by email, you will have an opportunity to opt-out of receiving further communication. You may also elect to stop receiving communications by following the procedure described below in “How to Remove Your Information.”

We may use outside third parties to provide certain services. These outside third parties will have access to personal information in order to perform their functions, but they may not use personal information for any other purpose. We may, on occasion, rent or exchange name and address information with other charitable or cultural non-profit organizations. We will notify you of any such sharing and your will have the opportunity to opt-out before we share any information.

We may share your personal information if we are required to do so by law or we are compelled to do so to comply with any subpoena, order or ruling of any court, government or administrative agency.
